Hi my name is Shanda B. Sparkle becoming a musical after so many years of its existence, is like having your cake and eating it too! The songs are fabulous and the storyline is amazing! I grew up on Sparkle and can still remember the words to most if not all of the songs. I began my singing in church singing gospel music which I believe gives me my soulful edge. Then I branched out into chorus, musicals, and plays from kindergarten to high school. My songs of choice to sing were always Whitney Houston songs, so to have an opportunity to be apart of a cast that includes the infamous Whitney Houston would be indescribable. After my high school years I went to college and began auditioning for tv shows. So far I've been an extra in Law 'n' Order and have been in 3 independent films with a lead role in one. But my number one passion has always been singing. I haven't performed in a couple of years but to me performing is like riding a bike; you never forget. I'd love this opportunity of a lifetime and am vowing to give 110% effort to this commitment. When the movie Sparkle was being made in 1976, my mother who is also a singer told me, that she was 19 years old and wanted to audition so bad for one of the sister roles but couldn't because she was pregnant with my brother. So I find it ironic that now after all these years I myself am trying to audition for the same concept. Mother if I am casted you can live vicariously through me 🙂 PICK ME PICK ME LOL

I think that when I was born instead of crying I started singing. don't misunderstand, I'm not saying I'm perfect and that I sing like an angel, but what i'm saying is that singing is my life. I'm sure there is better people than me but but with dedication and effort I'm sure I can be useful. After all, singing is my natural talent even if is weaker than some others. 🙂
Now, my acting is another story. Outside of family gathering fun and a few elementary school productions or middle school talent show, I haven't done much. And although I don't know if acting is one of my fortes or not, I still find it fun and challenging and it brings nice memories to my heart. Like I said before, effort is always the key. I just need a chance.

i have talent but when u ask to see it…prepare to get blown away..i was also offered a modeling job, it was in England though so i kinda didnt get to go because my mom had work (bah-hum-bug! = <:(

My Name is Mikayla and I am 11 years old. I have been doing dinner theater for the last 4 years. I starred as Annie in the adult cast in Orange County and got a standing ovation.
