I am an African-American female who is 17, I will be 18 in Dec of this year yes you all may look and say she does t know what she is talking about she is gonna destroy her life she is only a young child she doesn't know anything. But let me tell you this when I was a kid at the age of 5 I have always been in an out of places because of anger they say. When I turned 10 it became depression than turned to suicidal thoughts my whole life has been a roller coaster to top it off im the black sheep of the family my older sister and little sister used to always be together same for my two brothers. But that changed when it was 4 day before my 14 birthday we all were taking away from my mom and put into foster care and I got tired if the system so I decided to live with my father same goes for my older sister. That was a big mistake in the end I practically raised my self for two years then a year ago on April my sister got pregnant and was booted back to my mom, than my father got into a car accident (he is fine by the way no need to be concerned) but I was put back into foster care and then went to my cousins then back to my mom and now im back with my cousins. But along with all this is my body weight has been practically the same weight since, 260-270pds I tried to loose weight but it doesn't go away, that is were comes my insecurities, depression, stress, and the I have to keep my self smiling so nobody finds out im miserable face, then it all bottles up until one night I just cry and cry and ask God why and what ifs. If i was beautiful would I get noticed, will I be able to do what I dreamed,will my life be where I want it to be, will this never ending torment end. Other than that I'll tell you what I have right now, 42 H is my bra size my stomach I should say I wear pants and it over laps it. I have scars not a lot from being a total tomboy when I was a kid, I also have stretch marks a lot not just my stomach, my side's, arms and thighs. I have thick thunder thighs as they call them, back rolls, thick under arms, neck fat i have blemish on my face dark spots. I just want to look beautiful, feel beautiful, and have confidence in my self I don't want to really change my face that much just that fat and clear face. I want a body that is like the Kardashian's and Nicki but I want it to look natural, I don't want to look like a Barbie transformation. Im tired of bouncing around tired of where and what I will do next. I want to start a new me, be reborn to the me deep inside and this would be my start of a new, great and beautiful adventure.

I went from being someone with so much confidence to someone who is in confident about everything. I am a waitress and it's even hard to get a job like I use to because they won't tell you your fat and your teeth are bad. But they just don't hire you. From me being slim and nice teeth to me being as I am now for the last 4 years I see and feel the difference and discrimination. It's very hurtful. I have been through so much in the past few years I am ready to make a change and blow people's mind and my own and feel good again. When I was younger I was told I looked like Princess Leia and sometimes Eddie Brickell. Now I am older and gained a lot of weight. I had weight loss surgery in December 2013 (Gastric Sleeve). I have lost over 100 pounds so far, but with chronic pain and fatigue from an auto-immune issue it's hard to get further along. If I could look more like anyone in the world – it would be Alyssa Milano or Sandra Bullock. Both of these women are about the same age as me and are stunning beauties beyond belief (inside and out). I am a mom and wife, due to my illness I work from home but I am still fully employed (a source of pride as many others in my condition are on full-time disability). I was in an mental, verbal and physically abusive relationship for 11 years. The abuse left me with a missing tooth on my right side. Now I am faced with looking in the mirror every day seeing and remembering what he did to me. Everyone used to love being around me because I was always smiling. I can't do that anymore. If I smile I will have to explain to people why I am missing a tooth and reliving the moments over and over again. I was also abused by my ex because of my size. I have never been small or petite. I currently am a size 16-18. I wish I could blame that on him as well. It was my fault because of the stress and depression that I lost all confidence in myself.
I spend my time helping other women by giving them advise on how they can get help to get out of a bad situation. I have met with state representatives in the Capitol to tell them my story. I was personally thanked for what I have done and helping to get the laws in my state changed regarding domestic violence. It has been my pleasure to help and I need to keep paying it forward so more women/children know that there is help out there.
I would love to be a member on your show. I would love to have that piece of me back that he took away from me and once again look in the mirror with confidence. One of the people I really look up to is Angelina Jolie because of all of her work she does to help others. That's is what I will continue to do and that is who I would like to look like.

My 30th birthday was Jan 10th and it's the most trying and scariest time of my life. I'm facing a surgery for a congenital malformation that has high risk and leaves me anxious and frightened any time I think if it or is brought up. My surgery is on the 30th. The surgery for the chiari malformation will hopefully correct the pain that I've gone through.
This pain has ruined my whole life. It has led me to losing custody of my son, the weight I've gained from being incapacitated and left unable to exercise, the increased calling in to work and inability to practice massage anymore (I've been licensed for 11 years) and the sleepless, fitful nights. I'm so at the end of my rope.
There have been so many times I've wanted to give up. Doctor after doctor, for the last several years, have treated me with medications galore. My medicine cabinet is full of my prescriptions. I've all but gone insane from this condition.
But, when is done and I can live a semi normal life again, I want help feeling like the fit, pretty girl I used to be. Only better. I've been through so much heartache and have endured a condition in which is not visible. Without tests, that is. When I conquer this and heal from my surgery, I want so badly to be an upgrade. I want to be able to do things that I couldn't before. Things friends have always told me I should go for, and I wanted to, but I just never believed in myself. Thanks to the 14 years of child abuse when I saw younger I struggle so badly with my self image and worth.
So, I implore you to consider me for this makeover. Help me feel more than good after this. Help me feel great. My name is Tera. My first love was/is writing for that reason I have always particularly respected and appreciated Maya Angelou. I'd like the opportunity to be on the show because I have endured alot of trauma for a very very long time. My series of traumatic events started as a child when I was raped, abandoned, & beaten for years. I was raised by my grandma & my mother, whom I've always adored and admired,has spent the majority of my life thus far in prison. After having my first child I lost my child to SIDS, I have been homeless and destitute and I know what it is to lose the sense of self that I once had. I am still brewing with ideas for the future as I continue on into adulthood but I carry my dreams every where I go. No matter what I am constantly knowing that whatever trial I am facing is only temporary. That my dreams are destined to come true! Only I have done very little to make them come true. Maintaining a stable life is much more difficult than I could have EVER imagined as a child! I want the opportunity to see if my writing is noteworthy as is Maya Angelou. And hopefully one day I can help change someone's life or outlook on life like Maya Angelou has for me.
